Everything your team needs. Nothing they don’t.

  • What’s about to expire — refreshers re-enrol and remind for you
  • Who’s stuck, with alerts for not-started learners and repeated quiz fails
  • Audit-ready evidence in a couple of clicks

Badges your team will be proud of.

Courses and workplace sign-offs earn badges. They build into a pathway, so support workers can see how far they’ve come — and you can see who’s ready for more.

  1. Level 1Care Ready
  2. Level 2Growing in Care
  3. Level 3Skilled Carer
  4. Level 4Care Champion
Plus specialist badges for skills like catheter care.
  • Annual badges expire on time and re-enrol the refresher automatically
  • Practical badges need an assessor’s workplace sign-off

Good questions.

Can’t see yours? Ask us.

Do support workers need to download an app?

No. Fern runs in the web browser on their own phone. They get a sign-in link and they’re straight in — no passwords to remember.

Does each support worker need an email address?

Yes. Fern sends each worker their sign-in link by email, so they’ll need an address they can check on their phone.

How long does a course take?

Most courses take under 20 minutes. Progress saves as they go, so they can stop and pick up again between visits.

Are the courses mapped to Ngā Paerewa and aligned with Careerforce?

Yes. Every course is mapped to Ngā Paerewa NZS 8134:2021 and aligned with Careerforce Level 2.

How do practical skills get signed off?

For hands-on skills like catheter care or medication, workers complete the learning and then submit their competency. An assessor in your organisation reviews and signs it off, and it’s recorded against their training history.

How do annual refreshers work?

When a course is due for renewal, Fern re-enrols the worker automatically and sends reminders 30 days before, 7 days before and on the day.

What happens to records when someone leaves?

Their training history is kept for at least seven years, so it’s there whenever an auditor asks.

Who can see our team’s records?

Only your organisation. Your team’s records are kept separate from every other provider, and Fern staff only access them to support you.

What does Fern cost?

Fern is an annual subscription, priced on the size of your team. Get in touch and we’ll send you a quote.
